Alwin David Jennette, 89, of Raleigh, NC, died Wednesday, April 18, 2018. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on June 26, 1928. Al was a veteran of the US Army and was in the occupational army in Japan after WWII. Mr. Jennette was a market researcher in Manhattan for 40 years. He was a resident of Freeport Long Island, NY for 50 years. He was an expert gardener and avid pinochle card player. He loved Baseball and rooted for the Yankees. He also enjoyed going to the track to watch horse races.
In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by his wife Catherine Jennette, daughters, Judy Miller and Cheryl Simms and grandson Paul Miller.
Al is survived by his seven remaining children and many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be missed by many.
A time of visitation will be held from 1:00pm to 3:00 pm Saturday, April 21 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC 27609. A funeral service with Military Honors will be held at 3:00 immediately following the visitation.
