Willy will always be remembered as a loving & devoted wife, mom, grandmother, and friend. A woman of strong Chrisitian faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over fifty years, Fred O. Bates, Jr., and son William Bates. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Bates, sons; Fred O. Bates, III, T.N. Bates and wife, Connie, Crae Bates and Trace Bates, grandchildren; Grant Bates, Justin Bates, Brittine Woodard and husband, Scott, Ryan Bates, Carson Bates, Lindsey Bates, and Alex Bates.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 26 at 2:30 p.m. at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd., Raleigh. Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery, under the direction of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy, NC on Thursday, May 28 at 11:00 a.m.
