Betty Carter Waters

Betty graduated from Catawba High School in Catawba, NC. She married the love of her life, Albert R. Waters, on February 7, 1947. They were married for 40 years prior to Albert’s passing in 1987. She was employed and retired from the NC Legislature Department where she worked in the printing department. She loved to read, loved flowers and loved to work in her yard. She loved to shop and was always on the lookout for a good bargain.

Betty is survived by 2 children: Pam Pritchard, of Raleigh NC and Mike Waters (Donna), of Youngsville, NC; 4 grandchildren: Angela Cassanova (Nic), of Raleigh, NC, Matthew Pritchard (Shelby), of Wake Forest, NC, Chandler Waters, of Banner Elk, NC and Caitlin Waters, of Mobile, Al.; 4 great grandchildren: Payton, Zoey, Bella and Emery; multiple nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents Walter Gray Carter and Minnie Morris Carter and her sister Clara Mae Wilson and her nieces Vicky Rowe and Ann Gray Wilson.

A visitation for Betty will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hayes Barton Baptist Church, 1800 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27608. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM, 1800 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27608. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at, Raleigh Memorial Park, Raleigh, NC 27612.

Betty's family would like to thank Transitions Hospice, staff at Rex Hospital and a very special thank you to her nephew Morris Wilson (Jan) for taking such good care of her.

In lieu of flowers her family requests that donations be made to Hayes Barton Baptist Church.
