Catherine “Kay” L. Ronan, 83, of Raleigh, NC formerly of Plymouth, MA, died Monday, March 7, 2011, in the Tower Nursing Home in Raleigh. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Richard P. Ronan.
She was born January 31, 1928, in Boston, MA to the late Bernard and Florence Cassidy.
Kay attended Northeastern University, before moving to Plymouth, MA, were she resided for 25 years. She worked for the Boston Globe and for Gillette in the early part of her life. In 1973, she and her husband franchised a Lil Peach store in North Reading, MA and later owned the Kingston Supermarket in Kingston.
She was devoted to her family and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughter Linda Fuller of Raleigh, NC and her son Paul Ronan of Derry, NH as well as five grand children, Jessica, Matthew and Allyson Colanino, and Daniel and Steven Ronan, and a nephew Kevin Keane of Lowell.
