I am so sorry for your loss. Charlie and I worked in the grocery business together for years. We were actually competitors as I worked for Lever Brothers. He was such a joy to be around and work with. We loved to talk about sports, especially Carolina Basketball.

To the Black family, my wife and I talked about Charlie often.  He and I spent many years in this area representing Proctor and Gamble.  I considered him a dear friend.  We are so sorry for your loss and offer our  condolences.

I too haven't seen Charlie since high school....I do remember that he was a class act, and a pretty good athlete as well...My prayers are with the family...

To the Black family, I am so sorry for your loss.  Although, I only met him once, my heart is very heavy because I know what a wonderful family you have.  Many prayers were sent up that he be better.  Perhaps for him to be better, God's plan was to take him home.  The pictures posted made me smile as I know he made you smile.  Thank you for sharing him with us and as always, I offer myself for anything you may need.

Please acccept my condolences.  I have not seen Charles since I graduated from Greensboro Senior High in 1962.  I was manager of the basketball team and remember him well.  One clear recollection is a game we played in the GHS gym where Charlie went up to on a dunk attempt and the entire backboard shattered and came down on top of him.  He escaped unscathed but the court was covered with glass.  I do not remember if he made the shot but no matter, it was a memorable moment. So many years have gone by that I recall little except what is important:  he was a fine person and I enjoyed knowing him.  I wish our paths had crossed again after I had left Greensboro.
