Charles Edward Kudla

Charles was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 28th, 1948 where he attended and graduated from Lane Tech High School and continued to receive a Bachelor’s of Engineering at the University of Illinois Chicago Circle. He worked as an engineer for Underwriter’s Laboratories in Northbrook before relocating to the Research Triangle Park. He also served as a Sergeant in the US Army during Vietnam where he received the Bronze Star.

Charles is survived by his sons Patrick Kudla, 40, of Raleigh, Nicholas Kudla, 38 of Wilmington, and his daughter Jennifer Zumaris, 36 of New Hill and other family and friends.

Charles is proceeded in death by his sister Carol Stepanek, 50 (d.1991), his mother Genevieve Betlejewski, 46 (d. 1960), and his father Edward Kudla, 79 (d. 1985), all of Chicago, Illinois.

A private Celebration of Life will be held to honor Charles’ memory. The family wishes to thank the Raleigh Police Department and A Place at the Table for their support.
