Danny Lee Sawyer

Danny led a life marked by dedication, service and love. After graduating from Allen Park High School in Allen Park, Michigan, he pursued higher education at Michigan State University, graduating in 1955. His commitment to service was evident in his distinguished tenure as an officer in the United States Army from 1955 to 1962.

After his military service, Danny embarked on a remarkable career with the Kroger Company, where he dedicated 39 years of his professional life. His hard work, integrity, and leadership skills saw him rise through the ranks, culminating in his role as Vice President, a position from which he retired in 1997.

Danny was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Patricia Jean Sawyer, who passed away on December 7, 2022. Together, they built a life filled with love and mutual support, serving as a testament to their deep bond and commitment to family.

He is survived by his loving children, son Michael and daughter Erin, as well as their spouses, Elizabeth and Harris. Danny was also a proud grandfather to two grand children, Zach and Zoe, who brought immense joy to his later years.

Danny’s legacy is one of dedication to family, country and career. He will be remembered for his warm spirit, steadfastness, and the love he shared with those around him.
