Mr. Dickie Ellis Britt

Dickie married the love of his life Margie Malloy Britt on August 3, 1967 in South Carolina. He has been a McDonald’s Franchisee since 1990. Dickie was an avid golfer and belonged to the Raleigh Country Club. He was also an avid Carolina Hurricanes hockey fan and heavily involved in the Kids’N Community Foundation and Ronald McDonald House Charities. Dickie will be remembered as a supportive and loving husband, father, “PaPa”, and father-in-law, and will be deeply missed by everyone blessed to have known him.

Dickie is preceded in death by his father, Ellis Archie Britt.

Dickie is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Margie Britt; son, Dickie “DJ” Ellis Britt, II and his wife Terri; grandchildren, Austin, Carson and Caleb Britt; mother, Marjorie Byrd Britt; 2 brothers; loving Sheltie companion, Lady and numerous other family members and friends.

In celebration of Dickie’s life, the family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Friday, August 2, 2013 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd., Raleigh, NC 27609.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Lumber Bridge Presbyterian Church, 400 N. Fayetteville St., Lumber Bridge, NC. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
