

Born May 24, 1995, he was the youngest of Kenneth and Marilyn Wright Everhart’s three children. His siblings are Abby Michelle Everhart and Kyle Wesley Everhart, both of Raleigh. His longtime girlfriend is Summer Michele Lee, also of Raleigh.
Hunter was a 2013 graduate of Broughton High School, and a 2017 graduate of East Carolina University with a degree in Criminal Justice. Following in the footsteps of his father, who retired as Colonel of the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission in 2010, Hunter completed Wildlife Officers Recruit School training on June 28, 2018. He had just received his permanent assignment in 2019 in Pitt County when he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma.
Hunter loved any outdoor activity, including hunting, fishing and boating. He played sports throughout his life, and was an avid sports fan.
Hunter’s grandparents are Diane Everhart of Salisbury and the late Howard Everhart; and Barbara Wright of Matthews and the late Richard Wesley Wright.
Hunter’s aunts and uncles include Kim Lentz and Kelly (Carol) Everhart, all of Spencer; and Carolyn Wright Smith of Charlotte.
His cousins include Meredith Williams of Spencer, Mary Katherine Smith of Charlotte, Nicholas Lentz of Richlands, Ethan Smith of Charlotte, Sarahanne Smith of Charlotte, and Spencer and Anna Everhart of Spencer.
The family is profoundly grateful for the huge number of friends who stood by Hunter and supported him, especially these last three years.
Service: A Celebration of Life is set for 2 p.m. July 6 at Millbrook United Methodist Church’s Pryor Bradford Building (Family Life Center), 1712 E. Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC 27609. Casual attire welcome.
