Joseph Anthony Deeds

Joseph was born June 15, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York to James and Clara Deeds. While Joseph enjoyed many sporting activities like biking and tennis he found the most joy from the time he spent in the outdoors. He was an active member of a club in Idaho where he began with summer hikes but soon was enticed to take up the snowshoes in the winter. He was a very giving man, who volunteered his time to the Salvation Army as well as to the Department of Parks and Recreation maintaining trails.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Clara (Bir) Deeds.

Joseph is survived by sister Ruth Winders of Raleigh, NC, brother John Deeds of Cincinnati, OH, daughter Suzanne Deeds of Cincinnati, OH, daughter Christine (Deeds) Boss of Fort Lauderdale, FL, daughter Erin Deeds of Cincinnati, OH, son Tony Deeds of Fort Lauderdale, FL and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home Chapel, 1701 E. Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC 27609. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
