Josephine B. (Jean) Bebber Walker

Josephine B. (Jean) Walker, 82, died on Thursday, April 23, 2015, at Brighton Gardens in Raleigh. Born in Taylorsville, NC on October 29, 1932 to the late Hall Bryan and Luella Sipe Bebber, she married William E. Walker on September 8, 1956. Jean and Bill spent 45 wonderful years together. They loved to travel the world, living for a time in Winchester, England on assignment with IBM. She loved gardening and playing bridge with friends. She was a longtime member of Ridge Road Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

She was preceded in death by parents, Hall Bryan and Luella Sipe Bebber; husband, William E. Walker; and her sisters, Carolyn Barrier and Faye Karriker. She is survived by son, Wayne Walker and his wife, Kenna, of Wake Forest; a daughter, Wendy Lassiter and her husband, Frank of Raleigh; brother, Grady Bebber of Winston-Salem; and her grandchildren, Daniel and Jordan Lassiter, Nathan Walker, and Catherine Walker Miller. She is also survived by her great granddaughter, Sarah Miller.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 27, 2015 from 1pm until 2pm at Ridge Road Baptist Church, 2011 Ridge Rd., Raleigh. A funeral service will be held at the church immediately following at 2pm. Entombment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery Mausoleum, Raleigh.
