Lynn Ann Peeler, née Miller, of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at Rex Hospital on March 21, 2026, at the age of 74 after multiple long illnesses.
Lynn was born on June 16, 1951, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She lived a life marked by love, resilience, and devotion to her family. Lynn was the beloved daughter of the late Robert Pershing Miller and Loretta Frances “Cookie” Kucharczak, and sister to Robert Alan Miller. Lynn will be deeply missed by her daughter, Kelly Ann Peeler (Christiansburg, VA), who was the light of her life. She will also be remembered fondly by extended family members, friends, and all who knew her.
Lynn’s childhood included time in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, south Florida, and then northern Virginia where she graduated from Annandale High School. She moved to Raleigh, NC in the late 1970’s, making this her home for the rest of her life.
Lynn had many careers over the years, each of them giving her the opportunity to use her exceptional skills of organization and planning.
She wasn’t the biggest fan of change, but even in her last days, Lynn did her best to adapt and succeed in whatever situation she was in. She was clever, and while she may not have had fancy degrees, she was wise in her own way.
Lynn found joy in every day, even as circumstances became increasingly more difficult for her. She adored the many cats who shared her life, especially her last two constant companions - a source of great comfort and affection to her. She enjoyed bingo, puzzles, and playing word games, especially with her daughter, keeping her mind sharp and finding happiness in the challenge. She appreciated good food throughout her life, whether it was something special she spent all day cooking herself, or something prepared for her. It didn’t have to be fancy to be good – a popsicle was just as delicious as a prime rib in the right circumstances! Thanksgiving was her favorite holiday, not just for the food, but it became tradition to spend the whole holiday weekend baking hundreds of Christmas cookies with her daughter that they would then share with everyone they knew.
Lynn truly never met a stranger - her warm spirit and friendly nature made everyone feel welcome, and she had a remarkable ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Her kindness and compassion left a lasting impression on those around her. And she absolutely thrived at her last residence, surrounded by more love and friends than we could count. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life is being arranged to be held soon at Magnolia Glen, 5301 Creedmoor Rd. Raleigh, NC 27612. Interment with her parents at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery in Pleasant Hills, Pennsylvania, will occur at a later date.
