Illinois, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on September 9, 2025.
Mark was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend to all. He was always known for his
passionate interests, relentless optimism, and remarkable compassion. His entrepreneurial spirit
took him across the country, carrying on his family’s legacy in the shoe business in Illinois,
California, and finally, North Carolina.
He will be remembered for his kindness, warmth, and generosity to all he met. He was an avid
St. Louis Cardinal fan. He loved animals all his life. He raised tropical fish and chickens as a
child, and his loyal dog, King, walked him to and from school every day. Later in life, his son’s
dog, BMO, was a frequent companion, staying with him and Kathy whenever his son traveled.
One of his greatest joys was taking BMO to the dog park each day.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Kathy, and their two sons, Bryan and Jared, his brother Jon
Allard, his sister Sandra Allard Carron, several nephews, nieces and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, France and Hester Allard (née Chastain), his brother
Frenchie Allard, and his nephew, Jon Allard Jr.
A celebration of life will be held on September 20th, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at
Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 East Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC 27609. In lieu of flowers,
