I  met Mary at a workshop on Sept. 20th. She was warm and very pleasant to be around. So sorry to hear of her passing away.

Mary was a wonderful person in many ways. She was always helpful and had an upbeat manor to her with a joy for life. We at TAPS were blessed that we knew her. She will be sorely missed.

Mary was wonderful to work with. She was always positive and quick to reply. She loved and cared about her husband Bill, her son Will and her "lap dog". She was dedicated to spreading the Hospice philosopy through education. Mary will be terribly missed. Mary's family is in all of our thoughts ad prayers.

Mary was a bright light at the Carolinas Center and made everyone feel welcome and special.  She always had a smile and you could tell she was happy in life.  She will be missed very much.

Mary's family and friends are poorer for our loss, but much richer for having had Mary in our lives.  She is missed already by so many of us.  Thank you for being a friend, Mary.  It's also a sad day for the Tony Stewart Fan Club.  It's #1 member is gone.

I do not have words to express the shock that I felt upon hearing of Mary's passing. I just had a Conference Call Meeting with her on September 18, 2013 discussing educational offerings for 2014. Education for hospice employees throughout the Carolinas was one of her passions. I will miss her greatly and I pray that God will bring comfort to her husband and son. To the Carolinas Center for Hospice and End of Life Care Staff, know that you are not alone and I pray for you; we too moan this great loss! I worked with Mary as part of the Education Committee with the Home Care Association. She was a pleasure to work with and so much fun. We planned together with the education committee some awesome programs for the Association. One thing about Mary was she was a happy person and loved planning educational programs. I am a hospice physician who worked with Mary on many occasions to present educational programs at different venues. Mary was a friend to many. She was her own person. She was a great problem solver. I loved working with her. I am so glad that she lived her dreams. She was so happy about finding that Mustang. Mary did so much for the Carolinas Center.  When I last saw her at the confence in Asheville, she was so happy because everything was going so well.  She will be missed by everyone.

I, too, worked with Mary at the Wake Health Literacy Coalition.  Her vibrant contributions were always joyful and intelligent.  We'll miss her greatly.

All of us at Weatherbee and the Hospice Education Network are deeply saddened by Mary's death.  She was a quintessential professional and always a pleasure to work with.  Our deepest condolences to her family and to her colleagues at TCC.

Mary.... always with a smile and an awesome laugh.  With her many years of conferences and planning, she continued to be generous with her time and kindness.  We shared a caring skepticism - about most everything.  She made it easy to laugh and find joy in living.   I will miss her unique world view and spirit.

It was such a pleasure to work with Mary! I got to know her well the past few years. Just several weeks ago, at the Annual Conference in Asheville everyone was so pleased with the overall conference. She glanced at me once and said "I think this was a good one kiddo" and I agreed! My deepest sympathies to Bill, Will and all of your family. The TCC staff will also continue to be in my thoughts. She was a wonderful lady and will be missed by many.

I was so schocked and saddened to hear of mary's passing.  She was such a kind hearted person and was always so helpful when I needed something.  She had such a sweet spirit and always had a smile. I am so very saddened by Mary's death. I have known Mary for over 25 years and consider her a true friend. She was always so much fun to be around & always willing to help me when I needed it. I met Mary for the first time about 8 years ago, when I moved from the hospital into the hospice world.  What a pleasure it has been to work with Mary over the 6 years I have served on the TCC Board!  Mary made it so easy to say "yes" to an assignment, because you always knew she would be right there with you, making the load easier and the work fun.  I talked to Mary last Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and each time she was her upbeat, fun loving self.  I cannot imagine TCC without her fire and spirit, and I know she would encourage us to get to work anyway.  I pray God sends his peace and comfort to Mary's family and all who love her, you are in my prayers.

It was my pleasure to have known and worked with Mary as a member of the TCC Board and when she would call for me to present at conferences.  Her sense of humor was a joy.  She will be missed.

I have had the chance to get to know Mary very well over the last eight years and I loved how no matter what was going on in our worlds, when you asked Mary how she was, she would always say, "I'm just perfect!" I loved Mary's candidness and loved calling her my friend. She meant so much to AENC and her passing is a HUGE loss to the association community. She was one of those people that if you ever needed anything, she'd be there for you. I'm going to truly miss our NASCAR conversations and I am sure she will be watching with pride in heaven when "Smoke" starts back racing again next season!

Mary was wonderful. She was unique as a snow flake,as beautiful as a spring flower, warm as the breeze on a summer night and as refreshing as the fall afternoon. I only know that Bill loves her and she loved Bill. She will live in us forever. I am just thankful that I did get to know her for the short time I did.

Mary was a friend and peer in the association industry and for meeting planning.  She was kind, smart and always there when needed.  I will miss her dearly.

I first met Mary about 10 yrs ago when we served together in an educational consortium.  I was impressed with her “can do” attitude and her faithfulness to attend every meeting here in Greenville.  Over the years, I appreciated her creativity in allowing us to “work for registration” during tough budget times; her response when I asked for an educational opportunity in Greenville, she said,“you host it and I'll bring it” and she did.  She was a joy to be around, an example of a great work ethic and she made me want to work harder.  And, she always made me laugh – I will always remember her sense of humor.  I pray for God's peace to comfort her family at home and at work. She will be greatly missed!
