
She lived in Ahoskie, NC until she left for nursing school at North Carolina Baptist Hospital. She was a registered nurse for many years before staying home to take care of her two daughters. As her daughters grew older, she returned to nursing for a few years before switching over to the corporate sector.
Lynne was especially known for her love of books and her amazing cooking skills. She enjoyed spending time in Cape Canaveral, Fl, taking walks on the beach and watching the rockets launch with Claude the pelican. She touched the lives of many with her kindness, her generosity, and her baked goods.
Lynne is survived by her daughters Mary Midgette and Sara Welliver, her sons-in-law Jody Midgette and Brian Flythe, her grandchildren Andrew Welliver, James Midgette, Holly Parrish, and Simon Flythe, and her great-grandchildren Shelby and Nolan Welliver. She also leaves her nieces Nicole Buck and Sheila Burgess, her nephew David Edwards, and many other family members and friends who will hold her memory in their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Whit and Mildred Edwards, her brothers Whit Jr. and Howard Edwards, her sister, Betty Gayle Rhea, her nephew, Jeff Edwards, and her granddaughter Shona Parrish.
A celebration of Lynne's life will be held on April 27, 2025 from 12pm to 4pm at 10460 Blue Dun Way, Raleigh, NC 27614. Friends and family are invited to share their memories and honor her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to either the Duke Cancer Patient Support Program or the Wake County Animal Center in Lynne's memory.
