Mary Elizabeth “Betsey” Dietz Zellman passed away peacefully in her sleep after a long battle with multiple illnesses Thursday evening June 2nd 2016 at the age of 75. Born March 11th 1941 in Wolcott, Connecticut, Betsey was raised in Connecticut and later lived in Pittsburgh, PA before moving the Raleigh NC in 1982.
Betsey was a dedicated elementary school teacher for over 30 years, loving mother, caring grandmother, wife of Charlie Zellman for over 50 years and friend to all who met her. She is a graduate of Crosby High School in Waterbury Conn and Castleton University. An avid sportsman she loved swimming, golf, water skiing, hiking, camping and snow skiing.
She is survived by her husband Charlie Zellman, Son Chris Zellman & wife Kelly their daughters Ava and Brooklyn, Son Karl Zellman & wife Christy their sons Cole and Beckett.
The service will be held Tuesday June 7th 2-3pm Visitation and 3pm Funeral Service at the Brown-Wynne Funeral Home 1701 E Millbrook Rd, Raleigh, NC 27609.
