On Friday morning May 4, 2018, Myrtle Creech Bailey, of Raleigh left this world to be with the Lord in Heaven. Myrtle was a sweet, gracious and caring woman who loved the Lord, her family and her church family. The lives of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren are much richer for the lessons and love she gave them. She is greatly loved, and will be greatly missed.
Myrtle C. Bailey was born on July 4, 1928 in Raleigh, North Carolina to the late Robert and Myrtle Creech. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Lewis G. Bailey, sisters, Margie Hassell, Barbara Raulerson and brother, Billy Creech.
She is survived by her children, L.G. and Mary Bailey of Apex, Janet and Ronald Thompson of Wendell, and Robin and Ronnie Pergerson of Raleigh. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Lisa Bailey, Travis and Katie Bailey, Eric and Jessica Cochran, Justin and Kasey Pergerson. Great grandchildren, Brady and Oliver Cochran and soon to be baby Pergerson. Nieces and nephews, Sylvester and Mary Hassell, and Sylvia and Chris Lee, Annette and Bill Rhodes, and Donald and Debbie Suggs. Special family friends Teresa Perry, Dixie Ulmer and Edith King.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 11:00am in the Chapel at Friendship Baptist Church in Raleigh. The Memorial Service will begin directly after visitation at 12:00pm. Officiating will be Pastor Robert Vradenburgh and Pastor R.E Peterson. Burial will take place at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens in Raleigh.
