Nicholas Francis Hardesty

A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Nicholas 2:00 PM Monday, August 27, 2012 at Brown Wynne Funeral Home on Millbrook Rd in Raleigh.

Nicholas was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Ruth and his brother Robert. He is survived by his wife Ellen Hardesty, sons Simon Hardesty, Justin Hardesty, and daughter Victoria Hardesty, daughter in-law Rachel Hardesty, Simon's fiance Misty Hedges, step-children Kristin Plautz and husband Michael, Stuart Riley and fiance Amanda Howington, 4 grandchildren Dylan Hardesty, Jayden Hardesty, Dameon Hedges, and Cynder Hedges, his brothers Roger Hardesty and Terry Hardesty , and sisters Patricia Wilkinson and Susan Partin and Marilyn McKenna. His nieces and nephews, John "Spike", Chris, Ryen, Kelli, Tracy, Todd, Matthew, and Jennifer.

Nicholas was born in Lafayette, Indiana and the family moved to Raleigh in 1957. He attended Enloe High School. Nick spent his life working in the grocery business starting with Winn Dixie and Food Lion and spending the last 28 years working for Harris Teeter. He was a proud sports fan and could usually be seen sporting either a Steelers, Wolfpack, or Hurricanes ballcap. Nick loved spending time with his family, being outdoors, cooking wonderful meals, and always having a good laugh. His smile and chuckle will live forever in our hearts.
