Pat is survived by his two sons, Patrick Craig Simpson, Jr. (Tracy Simpson) of Raleigh, NC and Christopher Lang Simpson (Stacey Simpson) of Fuquay Varina, NC. He is also survived by five grandchildren; Kathryn Simpson and Corey Simpson of Raleigh, Amy Simpson of New Bern, NC, Emily Simpson of Morehead City, NC and Caroline Simpson of Fuquay Varina. Pat leaves behind two brothers, Mike Simpson (Shirley Simpson) of Herndon, Virginia and Jeff Simpson (Emmaline Simpson) of Raleigh. Pat is also survived by many special family members and friends.
To say that Pat Simpson lived a full life would be an understatement – he was one in a million. He was a handsome man, had a quick wit, was extremely humorous and always impeccably dressed. The light that shown brightest in his life, to all those who knew him, was the love and pride he had for his sons. Besides his boys, nothing made him more proud than being a graduate from North Carolina State University and the brotherhood of being a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He valued his education and it was deeply important to him. Over the years Pat lived in several cities but never stopped calling Raleigh home. It is where he eventually returned and sold real estate for many years. He loved trips to the grocery store, tailgating at NCSU football games, the beach, beach music, and shag dancing. He will be deeply missed by all those who loved him. He leaves such a unique void that it just cannot be filled.
A celebration of Pat’s life will be held at the home of Chris and Stacey Simpson, 1604 Bass Lake Road, Fuquay Varina, NC on Friday, March 21 at 6:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to The Wolfpack Club, PO Box 37100, Raleigh, NC 27627-7100.
