Rick was always a joy to work with. His calm demeanor and product knowledge were incredible . . . he will be greatly missed by all his co-workers at Square D/Schneider Electric. Our deepest sympathy to his family.

I first meant Rick when he moved to work in the Knightdale facility along with many others from Milwaukee, Asheville, and Columbia in the late 1980's. There is no doubt that Rick is truly missed by all of us at Square D/Schneider Electric.  He impacted our lives in many ways.  My sympathy and prayers to the entire Rick Potter family.

Rick was an exceptional human being. He was a great friend and a colleague. He will be missed greatly. His memories will always be with us. Specially, memory of his smiling face will always be remebered. My condolences to Rick's family.

My prayers for Rick's family for comfort and peace. I didn't know him real well, but enjoyed working with him during my 6 years in Raleigh. He always had a smile, laugh, and good attitude. The world needs more guys like Rick. I miss him.

His laugh.  That wonderful, infectious laugh which he shared so liberally will be missed.  I had known Rick since the Square D Asheville days ... over 26 years now, and continued on in Raleigh.  My family and I will keep him in our night prayers.  Peace ...

Rick was a great coworker and friend.  He always had a positive attitude, was caring, happy and had a smile on his face.  Rick was always willing to share his knowledge and help others with questions and problems.  He always brought lots of laughter when a group of us would gather at buffalo wild wings after work for wings and conversation. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Rick was a friend of our family for over 30 years and we have many wonderful memories of him interacting with our children. We moved from Milwaukee at the same time to Asheville North Carolina where we also developed a friendship with his Mom, Dee Gee.  Even though we followed their Raleigh move by 12 years, we kept in touch. A special memory was a visit in the summer of 2000 when Rick and his Mom treated us to a dinner to celebrate Dave's birthday. It was a shock hearing of his passing. Rick was always a very upbeat and nice person. He will truly be missed. My prayers and condolences to the Potter family.

First met Rick during FE training 30+ years ago. Incredible support thoughout the years. Will certainly be missed. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.

It is a great tragedy that Rick has left the world way too early. His cheerfulness and great attitude towards people always reminded me what I found most appealing about working for Square D. He was absolutely one of the good guys and is missed by many, many people.

"If there be any truer measure of a man than by what he does, it must be by what he gives."  Rick touched everyone who crossed his path with his warm heart and beautiful smile.  He was a wonderful co-worker and I am blessed to be able to call him a friend.  My deepest sympathies go out to all of his family and friends.

I will miss the professionalism and the laughter.  his knowledge and humor will live on with all of us who knew and worked with him.

What's to be done with this grief and sense of loss?  They ill- fit the memory of a man who in life was always cheerful and generous.  An esteemed colleague, Rick made work a place you wanted to be, where things were happening, and problems were solved, frequently with his advice.  He trained me as a new kid right out of school, and many years later he remained a key “go-to-guy” for me and so many others.  I miss Rick.

Rick was a friend and co-worker when I joined the company 27 years ago when we were both in the Control Products Training Department back in Asheville. Many joint training sessions and a move to Raleigh later we were still together. I left Training to join the Control Products Support Group and a short time later, Rick made the same move. Still together.
I learned more about people and how to deal with them from Rick than anyone I ever worked with. Always kind, able to smile at a moment's notice, willing to laugh at my terrible puns, a true gentleman. Miss him? Oh yes.
My heart goes out to his family and, really, all who knew him. We have lost as fine a man as I have known and are lessened without him.

Rick was a great friend.  I can't think about Rick without remembering a big smile on his face.  Our lunch outings were always a lot of fun.  He was a genuine good man.  I will miss him always.

Rick was ever helpful and will be missed. He was one the Good Guys!

I will always remember Rick as the consummate professional in training. I knew him from Milwaukee and raleigh when training was next to Marcom. Many fun moments were had cooperating with Rick. We will always remember him.

Every time I think of Rick I remember him annoucing the next trainee to blow a fuse on the training panels in FE training. I certainly blew my share. Working with Rick, over the 28 years after that, was a true pleasure. Rick will be truly missed by many. I am blessed to be able to remember Rick a friend.

Rick was a wonderful, kind-hearted person who will be sorely missed by all who knew him.  I was honored to work with him in his department and it was my absolute pleasure to get to know him.  A group of us were in the habit of going out to lunch every Friday, and he always made us all laugh.  He was such a joy to be around.  You couldn't know Rick and not love him.  My prayers go out to the Potter family at this difficult time.  I hope the kowledge of how much Rick was loved is a comfort to all of you.

Rick  Was a great person. Great Mentor. Great trainer excellent boss and good friend.  I'm glad he could visit Milwauke in April and See Miller Park before he left his friends here to be with his mom. Everyone at Square D/Schneider Electric will miss him.

Such a loss for those of us who worked with Rick and considered him a valued co-worker and friend.  He will be sorely missed.

I knew Rick for 38 years from the days when we were both Sq D - Milwaukee product trainers.He was always positive.had a great laugh,and was full of caffeinated energy.I'll sincerely miss my friend and colleague. Potts is in GOD's hands now and we are so grateful that he crossed our paths.

The loss of Rick is a time of sadness. My heart goes out to family and friends.

It's also a time to remember and reflect on Rick's life.

I enjoyed knowing and working with Rick for the past 12 years. The 2nd floor here at the office will be empty without Rick's laughter. Rick had a great sense of humor, even making light of difficult and stressful situations. I appreciate this quality as it helps us to dismiss our own obstacles and work toward solutions.

Rick was a legendary story teller. But, he did not dwell only on the past at the expense of the present. This is well demonstrated by the fact that his stories often included ones that happened recently. It seems that he woke up every day wondering what kind of memory and experience awaits and how he could share the good times with others.

Rick was very good at his work. Really, he was blessed with the perfect job because he got paid to do what he loved best. His position in product support was to help people understand technical products. Rick was one of the rare breed people who fully understood both the technical engineering details as well as the situations of "average Jane and Joe". He could explain anything in a way that would effectively teach. He had the satisfaction of helping people every day. It's not a "hero complex". Rather, he truly wanted to help. Whatever knowledge he had was almost bottled up inside just waiting to burst out. It is almost like he was a kid on the playground that just learned about a super-fun, exciting and new game that he wanted to play with his best friends and total strangers alike. “Guess what I learned. Let me show you. You'll love it.”

I hope we all have a change to retell some of Rick Potter's stories. There are plenty of good ones. Don't hold back from the stories that were a little embarrassing. He wouldn't. Personally, I'm a better person for having the chance to learn from Rick.

We never talked about our faith. So, I don't know much about this part of him. For sure, he was a positive person that looked forward. Each of us has our own beliefs. May your faith comfort you. I take comfort from Job 14 and many others Bible versus. I look forward to the day when I can thank Rick personally for the good that he shared with me. Then, we'll laugh about the good old days while forging new memories into the future.

Rick Potter was my friend and a colleague at Schneider Electric.  He was a people person who really enjoyed making people smile and returning one as well.  I could always count on Rick to find the best places to eat when I was in town.  He could be trusted to do his job and to take care of the customer.  Although we have lost a wonderful person in Rick, I am a better person for having known him and worked with him. He will be missed
