Richard Lee Reifschneider, 82 , of Raleigh, NC, died March 16, 2018. He was born in Cedar Rapids, IA on February 25, 1936 to Jake and Molly Klein Reifschneider. He graduated from Cornell University in 1960. He joined the US Army, tank battalion at Ft. Hood, TX. He quickly rose to Captain before discharging to civilian life and heading to Weston, CT for nearly 20 years. He earned a pilot’s license and enjoyed helping others by volunteering as a fire fighter and ambulance EMT for 15+ years. Later he moved to the Outer Banks of NC where he was a successful realtor and then retired to The Village in FL returning to be near his children for the last 8 years. He was fiercely loyal and never knew a stranger. He loved being outdoors and playing sports but most of all, he loved his family and creating memories.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dollie Reifschneider of Omaha, NE.
He is survived by his daughter, Christina Page (husband Doug and their children: grandson Brett Page wife Whitney and great grandson Carter, grand daughter Kathryn); sons, Hunt (wife Leigh and grandson Aaron), Eric (grand daughter Romi), Blake (grandson's Brody, Chase and Wyatt), and Kent (wife Danielle);
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory be made to the Weston Volunteer Fire Department, Weston, CT.
