Robert Vernon Taylor

Robert Vernon Taylor, 67, passed away at his Raleigh home on Wednesday, November 6, 2013. He was born on July 20, 1946, in Concord, NC, to the late Thelma Pinner Taylor and the late John Vernon Taylor. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Hester Taylor of Raleigh; his daughter, Jennifer Anne Taylor, and her husband, Robert, of Raleigh; his son, Robert Reed Taylor, of Greenville; his brother, Kenneth Hall Taylor, and his wife, Kathy, of Concord; three loving grandsons - Jason Reed Taylor and John Alexander Taylor of Raleigh; and Matthew Norman Taylor of Greenville; and his step-son, Kyle Braddy, and his wife, Meg, of Charlotte. He is preceded in death by his first wife of 25 years, Sandra Sell Taylor, of Concord and his step-daughter, Lauren Allyn Braddy.

A 1964 graduate of Concord High School and a 1968 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Robert worked as a systems analyst/programmer after graduation and later as owner and president of Wesson Taylor Wells & Associates, a national information technology consulting firm. He spent his retirement years as the loyal "numbers man" and go-to problem solver for his wife's interior design business.

Robert will be remembered by his family, friends, and all who met him as a genuine, kind and generous man who always had a smile and a story to tell. He loved his family; his two dogs, Jake and Millie; traveling; music; and the theater, and he spent many years performing with his "theater family" in Concord and surrounding areas.

A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. on Monday, November 11, 2013, at Browne-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 East Millbrook Rd., Raleigh, NC 27609. The family looks forward to speaking with friends and loved ones immediately following the service.
