Shane Alexander Bremen

Shane was born March 13, 1995 in Raleigh to William Bremen and Sherol Smith Lappala. He was a Junior at Cardinal Gibbons High School and attended Saint Raphael’s Catholic School. One of Shane’s great joys was playing Lacrosse and he was a member of the Saint Raphael’s Guardians and the Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders Lacrosse teams. Shane loved music, was a voracious reader and captivated his family and friends with his dry and whimsical sense of humor. He was a friend to many and he will be greatly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary Jean and William B. Bremen.

He is survived by his father, Bill Bremen of Raleigh; loving mother, Sherol Smith Lappala and her husband, Eric, who was also a devoted father to Shane; brother, Will Bremen; grandparents, Gary and Judy Smith; uncle Steve Smith; aunts, Mary Beth Bremen; Kathleen Switec; Susan Church and her husband Jim; Julia Forest and her husband Jim; Laura Cooley and her husband John; cousins, Tammy and Trey Church; Keely and Georgia Cooley; Haven and Emily Forest; step-sister, Liesl Vargas; and step-brother, Kris Lappala.

A Funeral Mass will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2011 at Saint Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church, 5801 Falls of Neuse Road, Raleigh, NC 27609. Burial will follow the service at Raleigh Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 12:00 – 1:30 prior to the service at the church.
