I can’t believe it’s been 15 years- every year I miss you more than you could know.

It's been almost 15 years since I got to hear your laugh, it was one of my favorite things about you. I think about you often and who you would be now. There's been so much music over the years I wish I could share with you. I miss you so much and I always will, you took a piece of me with you and I haven't been the same since. I've missed your mom and have wanted to reach out so many times, I hope she's doing good. I miss you so much. I love you, Travis.

Hey it’s your little sister! I miss you- 24 is hard. You wouldn’t know it but it is. 18 & 19 were really hard too. I wish you were here for this. For me, for your mom. We miss you. Shes doing really good since the last time I saw her- a love bug dawggg! Your attack attack shirt is in a bag where it can’t smell like anything but how you left your room. I wear it once a year so it smells like me a little bit. I promise I haven’t messed it up! You’d be so mad if I did haha. Every year the older I get I just know we would have been such good friends. I’m sorry I was too young to save you and that maybe we didn’t have the best relationship since I was so little. But I’m a big girl now and we could have been the best of pals. I miss you. I truly miss you.

Travis, I never got to spend much time with you, but I did watch you grow over the years. I saw you go through all the awkward phases we all go through in middle school and high school. It's hard enough to imagine that you went from the soft-spoken kid I initially met to the really popular guy that everyone loved. It's very hard to accept that you're no longer with us. I remember how much you looked up to my friend Nick, like he was your big brother, not just your step brother. You will be greatly missed.

I remember when we awkwardly held hands that one time in the third grade, and I couldn't talk to you for weeks after because I was so sure I had contracted cooties. I remember my mother coming home from the DRES carnival a few years ago saying you passed along a hello to me, and I remember my regret about letting the time go by without returning it. I wish I had. It's been years since we talked and I wish I had changed that. I wish I had returned that hello. Despite the years and the distance, I hold you dear to my heart. You were a good friend to me (despite your boy-cooties) and I will cherish that always. You will be missed here and I really hope I get to see you again someday.

Dear family,
I'm very sorry about your loss. I believe Travis would have made a wonderful young man. He was my best friend at one time and he always kept a smile on my face. He is deeply missed by many. You're all in my prayers.

My son Ryan used to hang out with Travis in Gresham Trace neighborhood; he remembers when Travis crashed on a wooden make shift cart Ryan had because he didn't know how to stop.  Travis encouraged Ryan's interest in guitar.  He was always really friendly to me as well and easy to talk to which is unusual, most kids barely acknowledge their friend's mom's.  We haven't seen him so much lately, and then I ran into him at the eye doctor a few months ago--we chatted and really enjoyed seeing him again (he had a very bright smile).

We were so very sad when Feris told us of his passing, we can't begin to imagine the pain and loss you must feel.  We are saying prayers for the repose of his soul and for his family as they grieve his loss.

We remember Travis, our great-nephew, when he came to visit in Florida and came to our house for Christmas Eve.  He was excited to help set up the Lumineria and light the candles.  He paid attention to his "young" cousins and was so nice to play with them.  We'll remember him always.
