Wally was born in Clark County, Indiana on February 22, 1923; the son of the late Flossie Cross Stewart and Delbert Hostetler. After graduating from New Washington High School in Indiana, Wally served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as an aviation machinist mate. He married his sweetheart in Michigan where they loved and lived for many years. In 1980, he retired as Captain of the Livonia Fire Department in Michigan. He spent over 20 years in Spring Hill, Florida where he enjoyed his retirement and many friends.
Mr. Cross is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Hidegard Schrack Cross and their three children Susan Cross Booth (partner Howard), Thomas Lee Cross, and Frederick Alan Cross (wife Karin). He is survived by seven grandchildren AJ, Erica, Erin, Patrick, Bryan, Patricia, and Sean Reed. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Audrey, Justin, Ellie, and Trevor.
