September 7, 2025, at the age of 85.
Ann was born on October 3, 1939, in Red Bluff to Bill and Jean Gilliland. She grew up in the
North State and built a lifetime of love, family, and community in the place she always
called home.
While attending Red Bluff Union High School, Ann met her sweetheart, Raymond Carrol
Ault. The two were married on May 11, 1956, beginning a partnership that would last nearly
seven decades. Together they shared 69 wonderful years of marriage, raising three sons—
Raymond L. Ault, Michael R. Ault, and Gary D. Ault—and creating a home filled with
warmth, laughter, and devotion.
Ann was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker who worked tirelessly both in and
outside the home to support her family. Over the years, she held positions at Zuckweiler’s
Department Store (fondly remembered for its clock tower), Clark’s Drug, and the Tehama
County Assessor’s Office. Her strength, kindness, and quiet determination were the
foundation upon which her loved ones built their lives. She cherished her family above all
else and found her greatest joy in their company.
Ann was also active in her community. She proudly served as president of the Red Bluff
Emblem Club, where she enjoyed representing the organization and traveling for her
duties. She also volunteered with the local Hope Chest, always ready to lend a hand to
those in need.
Ann and Raymond loved to travel together and spent many happy years camp hosting,
where they met countless new friends. Ann had a gift for making friends everywhere she
went—her warm smile and caring nature left a lasting impression on everyone who knew
her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond, who passed away on April
22, 2025, as well as her parents, Bill and Jean Gilliland. She is survived by her children,
grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers Jim Lesher and Stanley Lesher, and many
extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Ann’s legacy of love, kindness, and family will live on through all whose lives she touched.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
