

Jessie Marie Morrison Chamberlain 8/13/34 ~ 5/8/15 With her sweetheart beside her, Jessie Marie Chamberlain, 80, passed away peacefully at their home in Red Bluff, CA. Born to Wendell and Jessie Morrison in Berkeley, CA, she was loved by her family and everyone who knew her. Her family nicknamed her "Babe" since she was the youngest daughter. She has always said her life really began when she met a tall, handsome swimmer, Cal, at Hayward High School, CA. Jessie graduated high school at the age of 16, she worked for the phone company until she married that handsome swimmer on November 13, 1952. She felt that her most important work here on earth was to love God and be a good mother and grandmother. This she made a conscious daily effort to do so. She spent countless hours in service and love for her family, friends, community and church. She volunteered for PTA, Brownies, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. When she moved to Redding, she helped drive for Hospice, was a member of the Relief Society in her church, making receiving blankets and leprosy bandages for 3rd world countries, making lap quilts for local rest homes and even crocheted newborn hats for the local hospital's maternity ward until the day she died. Cal and Jessie joined a square-dancing club and danced all over northern California. Jessie took classes in cake decorating, sewing and landscape oil painting. She helped with Cal's electronics shop in Redding, named "CalMark Electronics", until it closed in 1993. In 1991 they moved to Red Bluff. Her positive attitude, joyful smile and zest for life will be missed by her husband, 3 children, 12 grandchildren, and 36 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Cal, children Guy (Sue), Joy (Jim)Wilhite, and Mark (Juni), and her brother John Morrison. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 15 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 545 Berrendos Ave., in Red Bluff.
