Christine Gouvea

Christine Gouvea born on November 16, 1946, to Edward and Thelma Nix in Cordell, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully in her home in Dunsmuir, California on December 20, 2023, at the age of 77 years old. She is now with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and reunited with her parents and several siblings (Gary, Patsy, and Lonnie) in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Christine grew up as a barefoot country girl as one of seven children in Sheridan, Ca, giving her a love for family. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1964 and married Mark Gouvea in July of 1970. Christine had two sons (Gerald and Bret) who she was more than happy to be the central figure in their lives. She worked as a nurse aid, business manager, cosmetologist, and instructor. It was the combination of all these skills that led her to her passion of becoming a caregiver to the elderly.

Christine is survived by; husband Mark Gouvea, sons Gerald (Shari) Gouvea and Bret (Amanda) Gouvea, grandchildren Gerret (Lauren) Gouvea, Alyssa (Sean) Troncale, Colby Gouvea, and Matthew Gouvea, great grandchildren Oliver Troncale, Torin Troncale, and Cole Gouvea, sister Linda Mobley, brothers Coy Nix and Eddy Nix.

All who knew her will always carry her memory in their hearts.

A celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Mercy Oaks, 100 Mercy Oaks Drive, Redding, CA 96003
