Darrel Lee Graham

1931 - 2011

Darrel Graham went home to be with the Lord on June 10, 2011 at home in Redding, CA.

He was 79 years old, born on July 2, 1931 in Long Island, Kansas.

Darrel was predeceased by his late wife, Barbara Graham and his parents, Forest and Elsie Graham.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Graham of Redding, CA, son Brent Graham of Portland, OR, daughter Joan Phillips of Redding, CA and his step children Kimberly Paul, Robert Kalstrom, Heather Sanchez and Jonathan Kalstrom, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, 3 grandchildren, 9 step grandchildren and 1 step great granddaughter.

Darrel grew up on a farm in Kansas before enlisting in the United States Navy. He was a Korean war veteran serving from 1950 - 1954, earning five medals. Following his discharge he worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for Cal Trans for 35 years. Darrel volunteered as a firefighter for the Buckeye Fire Patrol District for 12 years.

Darrel enjoyed the outdoors - kayaking, canoeing, camping and exploring the northwestern coastline. He was a member of the Rivercity Jazz Society. Darrel was very good with his hands and could build, design and fix just about anything. He will be missed by his family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at Canyon Community Church in Lakehead, CA on Saturday June 18th at 11:00 am. Family requests memorial donations be made to Canyon Community Church, Lakehead, CA and Mercy Hospice, Redding CA.
