Eleanor Dorothea Fletcher

1916 - 2012

Eleanor Dorothea Fletcher was born on September 1, 1916, in Wyandotte, MI. After high school, Dorothea worked at Wyandotte Chemical where she met her future husband, Carl Jacobs, and in 1947, they headed to California with two small children, Kathleen and Martha. Two more children (Elizabeth and Jeffrey) were soon added as they settled in San Mateo. Eight years later, in 1956, Margaret joined the family. In life, Dorothea came to find personal joy in her relationship with Jesus Christ. Through life's trials, she put one foot in front of the other trusting that God would bring her through. She was never disappointed.

In 2001, she moved with her son, Jeff, and daughter, Elizabeth to join Kathleen Kay in Redding. She was a prayer warrior for many, with an active and inquiring mind up to the end. She listened to Easter Services on KVIP radio (98.1 FM) because she was too weak to attend church. "He (Jesus) is Risen, He is Risen Indeed," she repeated. On Monday, April 9th, she breathed her last and went home to be with her Lord Jesus. Our family joins in rejoicing at what she is experiencing beyond death: "Things beyond our seeing, things beyond our hearing, things beyond our imagining, all prepared by God for those who love him." 1 Corinthians 2:9.

Her Memorial Services will be held 1:00 PM, April 28, 2012 at Grace Baptist Church, 3782 Churn Creek Rd, Redding, CA 96002. Dorothea is survived by her children: Kathleen Kay (Redding); Martha (Rich Steiger), Margaret (Jeff Morris) of San Mateo and Elizabeth Jacobs (Redding); grandchildren: Karen Graham, Redding; Ellen and Cindy Steiger, San Mateo; Jon Morris, San Mateo.
