George Ryan Somers

George Ryan Somers, 49, of Redding and San Diego, California, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on August 28, 2025. He was born on January 4, 1976, at UCLA Hospital in Santa Monica to Michael and Mary Somers.

A man of dedication and determination, George devoted over two decades to construction and entrepreneurship. Whether leading a construction project or launching a new business venture, he embraced every opportunity with passion and an adventurous spirit.

George was also a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, where he combined his faith with his hands-on skills to serve his community. He often donated his time and talents by renovating floors for local Catholic schools and Knights of Columbus halls in the San Diego area quietly giving back in the ways he knew best.

He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering willingness to help others. George had a deep passion for mentoring youth and sharing his love for God. Above all, he treasured his family. He was a constant source of encouragement and guidance to his siblings, friends, and loved ones teaching new skills, offering wisdom, and always adding humor and heart to every gathering. His support was steady through life’s highs and lows, and the memories he created will be treasured forever.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Mary Somers, and his uncle, Timothy Gray. He is survived by his former wife, Aly Weaver, and their daughter, Parker Ryan Somers; his siblings Chris, Elizabeth, Kt, David, Dominica, and Laura; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will deeply miss him.

George’s life was filled with love, laughter, service, and hard work. His legacy lives through his daughter Parker Ryan Somers and on in the stories shared around family tables, in the lessons he passed on, and in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.
