Born to Charles and Ethel Clara Hampton,
Harold's family of nine were first generation
pioneers in Shasta County. As a lifetime
resident of Redding, his only time away
was during WWII as a Marine from 1942
to 1946. Harold's career in the grocery
industry began in high school and, he retired
after 45 years in 1985. Harold met Irma
Baldocchi (a veteran Army Nurse) in Redding
and the couple married July 25,1948.
They raised three children, James, Mary,and
Catherine which includes grandchildren, and
great-grandchildren. Harold and Irma were very
active as volunteers during their retirement
years. Interests included the West Valley
Volunteer Fire Dept., Cottonwood Chamber
of Commerce, and the Shasta County Historical
Society. Irma continues to remain active in the
Cottonwood Garden Club. The only surviving member
of The Charles and Ethel Clara Hampton family is
the youngest, Duane Hampton.
The Military Marine Corps will honor Harold
at the Veteran's Cemetery in Igo/Ono on Jan. 5
2010 @12:45 pm and Fr. Molina from Our Lady
of Mercy will officiate. Friends and family are
