Inez was born the youngest child of italian immigrants Matteo and Mary (Garzini) Pasero on April 17,1929, in Susanville, CA. She passed in her 96th year doing what she loved, working in her garden, on july 14th 2025.
Inez graduated from Lassen High School. In 1952, she moved to redding with her parents and lived in the home her father built for the rest of her life. Her home was her pride and joy and was kept spotless inside and out. Her passion was gardening and she maintained beautiful flower beds and an immaculate yard. Especially dear to her was her azalea bed. In that bed were azalea's from every family member's funeral.
In addition to her parents, she is pre-deceased by sisters Valentina (Zunino) Rucker and Katherine Manfredini, who helped her raise her, as well as her brothers Albert (who passed in infancy) Robert, Ernest Paul and Peter Pasero. She is survived by nieces Diana Milton and Kathryn Dempsey and nephews Stephen and Ernest Matteo Pasero and great nephew Jason Pasero as well as numerous other great nieces, and nephews. She is also survived by her dear friends and neighbors, Rocky and Stacy Clardy and their sons Colton and Rylan.
In all her years she was rarely comfortable away from her home, leaving it only a few times. Once to take her great nephews to Disneyland, once to visit her nephew in Hawaii and once to spend a weekend in the Redwoods. She was an excellent baker and her family always looked forward to her Christmas cookies. She was a loyal employee and spent her 40 year career with the Mancasola family grocery stores: Farmers and Sunset Markets.
She will be sorely missed but we take heart in the fact that she had a long and healthy life and passed the way she would have wanted, pulling weeds, with dirt under her fingernails. There will be one more azalea planted.
Graveside services will be held at St. Joseph's Cemetery on Eureka way in Redding on August 29th at 10:00 a.m. with a gathering of friends and family at her home afterwards.
