Jeffrey "Craig" Ewing, 65, passed away on Monday, 28 November 2016, at home with family, after a short battle with cancer.Craig, as most knew him, was born on 2 October 1951 to Glenn and Mary Ewing in Glendale, CA and moved to Central Valley, CA shortly after. There he attended grade school and graduated from Central Valley High School. Craig continued his education at Shasta College, where he earned a degree in Computer Science and met the love of his life, Suzanne Tanson. They married in June of 1975 and began their life together in Sacramento, CA. Spending many summers as a child at Shasta Lake, his love for the area and his family brought them back to Central Valley to raise their children. Craig began working for Redding Lumber Transport as an owner operator, where he was proud to say he had over 3 million accident free miles. Craig and Suzanne later found their forever home in Cottonwood, CA. Craig's love and appreciation of the outdoors was shared with his children and grandchildren. Whether it was taking long drives up in the mountains, hunting trips, fishing or camping on Shasta Lake, he always had family by his side. Craig was a great role model and took any opportunity to pass on his knowledge of life to his children, grandchildren, and anyone else who cared to listen. The most important thing to Craig was the memories he made with his friends and family. He was always laughing and smiling, even when nobody else quite knew what it was that he was laughing about. Craig is survived by his wife of 41 years, Suzanne Ewing; son, Sean and Kayla Ewing of Cottonwood; daughters, Heather and Jason Bell of Red Bluff, and Shannon Vose of Sacramento; sister, Susan Ewing of Redding; brother, R.J. Ewing of Shasta Lake City; grandchildren, Taylor Bell, Todd Bell, Jordan Serrano, Connor Ewing, and Kennedy Ewing. We can't forget to mention his extended family at RLT who have all been a part of his life for so many years. He was preceded in death by his father Glenn Ewing; mother and step-father Mary and Buford Moody; brothers Andy Ewing and Preston Moody. His love and infectious laughter will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Family and friends are welcome to join us as Craig is laid to rest at his graveside services at 1:00 pm on December 13th at Redding Memorial Park in Redding, CA.
