Joan Burke

Redding, CA

Joan Burke was carried home by angels on Friday, August 21, 2015. Born to George & Myrtle Paoli on October 26, 1934 in Frontenac, Kansas, she traveled to Martinez, CA as a youth with her parents and two brothers. She married her high school sweetheart, Bill Burke in Martinez and they started raising their family there. They moved to Platina, CA in 1965 where they owned and operated the Platina store for 19 years before moving into Redding for their retirement years.Joan was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill and her two brothers Ed and Jimmie. She is survived by her two sons, Jimmie (Sue) and Dan, and her two daughters, Linda (Chris) and Christine (Jeff). She was very proud of her eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and active in their lives. We will miss her greatly, as will the many friends of hers. Services will be Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the McDonalds Chapel, 1275 Continental Street in Redding. Burial will follow in their cemetery. Reception will be held at the Shasta County Veterans Hall located at 1605 Yuba Street in Redding following the burial.
