Nena Rose

Nena was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Louis and Myrtle Gizinos in August of 1937. Nena grew up in Redding CA with four brothers and two sisters. In 956, Nena graduated from Shasta Union High School. She married Ken Briggs and in December of the same year, her son Kenny was born. She divorced and married Bill Lees the next year. Her son Bill was born in 1958 and David followed in 1959. David died less than twenty-four hours after birth. Donny was born in 1960. Nena stayed home with the kids while they were growing up. Nena married Lee Rose in 1978 and later that year Crystal was born. Nena moved to Georgia for eight months until her divorce from Lee. She then moved back to Redding. She moved to Red Bluff in 1982 and took a part time job at Red Bluff Union School District in the cafeteria. She worked there for several years and decided to move back to Redding in 1988. She then started work for a local dentist, then a doctor doing house cleaning and babysitting. Her next job was for In Home Support Services where she helped take care of elderly people. She became ill in 1997, and had to have open-heart surgery. She had to quit work and go on disability. Nena was devastated when her beloved son Donny died in September 2006. She had another devastating loss of her son, Bill in March of 2021. Crystal worked for In Home Support Services and she helped take care of Nena until the time of Nena’s passing in September of 2024.

Preceding her death were Nena’s parents, Myrtle and Louis and her three brothers, Raymond, Gerry and Jimmy, and her two sisters, Della and Betty. She leaves behind her brother John and her children, Ken and Crystal, and her grandchildren, Kylie, Taren and Kenny, Willy and Ericka, and her great grandchildren Brantley and Reagan.
