Wesley Kirksey, 73, died September 2, 2014 after many years of battling renal failure. He was born on March 2, 1941 in Memphis, TN. Wes served in the Army from 1958 to 1960 and the Army Reserve from 1960 to 1966. He worked for PG&E as a Lineman in Oakland and then as a Systems Operator in Cottonwood and later Round Mountain until his retirement in 2000, after 34 years of service.
Everything he did, he did with perfection, organic gardening, building things and working out at the gym.
He is survived by the love of his life, Carole, stepson Kent Sorensen, granddaughters Melissa Sorensen and Crystal Joseph, sisters Carolyn Jones of Memphis, TN and Barbara Price of Jonesboro, AR, brother Edward Kirksey of Memphis, TN. He is predeceased by his stepson Steven Sorensen and sister Mary McGowan.
There will be a celebration of his life September 28, 2014 at the Elks Lodge in Redding from noon until 4:00 P.M.
