Anna L. Smith, 79, of Providence Forge, Va., passed peacefully Friday September 5, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward “Eddie” Smith and twin sister Frances “Kitty” Piacentini . Anna had retired from American Filtrona and was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Linda Hall, Carolyn Ball and son-in-law, Robert and Edward Dean Smith , grandchildren, Thomas, Sherry, Brian, Bobby, Anna, Daniel and Jasmine and great grandchildren, Michelle, Savannah, Forrest, Nellie, Wesley, Ace and Candace . Also surviving are a brother, Joseph “Sonny” Deane and nieces, Debbie, Darla, Donna, Deloris ,Deanna and Sonnie Lee The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Monday, Sept 8 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. A graveside funeral will be held 11 am Tuesday, September 9 at Washington Memorial Park.
