HAMILTON, Betty, 81, departed this life on Sunday, April 26, 2015. She was born in Glen Allen, Virginia but her thirst for adventure led her to the Texas coast where she lived for the past fifty years. She worked for the railroad in Houston for many years, which afforded her the ability to make a home on the beach in Galveston, Texas, where she spent several years enjoying the sunshine, the surf, and the company of friends. An independent spirit, Hamilton traveled the world, skied mountain slopes, and enjoyed everything life had to offer. She is survived by her brother, Tippy Hamilton and sister in law, Shirley; sister, Marjorie Stagg; niece, Pam Williams; three nephews; great nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews; and two great-great-great nieces; as well as many other family and friends. A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 29 from 6:00 – 8:00pm at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. Richmond, VA.
