Fields, Charles Roy, Jr., born August 23, 1918 in Osceola, Missouri, died Thursday, April 30, 2015 at his home in Highland Springs, VA. He is survived by his daughter, Jean Fields Thomas (Jim); grandchildren, Meagan Thomas, Nick Thomas; and a niece, Nancy Skidmore of Kansas. Charlie was an air traffic controller for 34 years, living in Maine, Rhode Island, and finally settling in Virginia where he met and married his favorite gal, Ethel. They are now together again. He was a kind and gentle man and will truly be missed by all who knew him. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 4 from 4-7 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA. Graveside services will be held at Washington Memorial Park on Tuesday, May 5 at 12 PM in the mausoleum.
