Charles Albert Guard, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Albert "Buck" Guard, Sr.; mother, Pauline F. Guard; siblings, Mary Guard-Langdon, Clayson Guard; and daughter-in-law, Jennifer Guard.

Charles worked as a brick mason and operated C.A. Guard Masonry and Guard Construction alongside his brothers. He was a member of the Bricklayer's Union #1. Charles enjoyed fishing and watching movies. He was also a NASCAR fan and people watcher.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 48 years, Cathy Guard; sons, Charles A. Guard, III (Gabby), Jason C. Guard (Mel); grandchildren, Hunter, Jason Jr., Kaylee, Austin (Melanie), Ava, Sam; siblings, Regina, Debbi, Ruth (H.E.), Kathy, William (D'Anne), Polly (Lala), Suzanne (Mike); numerous loving in-laws, nieces, and nephews; as well as countless friends - with special recognition to his sister-in-law, Terry; and brothers-in-law, Tommy, Kenny.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.
