

Charlie C. Miller, Jr., 92, of Henrico, Virginia, passed away on January 2nd. He is survived by his wife, Jean Elaine Miller; three children, Sandra Combs, Steven Miller (Bonnie), Mary Elizabeth Mahoney (Eddie); seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Charlie was born and raised in Haw River, North Carolina and joined the Navy after high school. He served in the Navy from 1953 to 1956 and then the Air Force until 1973. During his time in the military, he travelled the world to various locations and served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He started working for the United States Postal Service, at the Richmond International Airport, in 1973. After retiring in 1996, he enjoyed spending time at the river boating, fishing, playing cards, and participating in horseshoe tournaments. His hobbies included crossword puzzles, watching sports and westerns, and betting on the horses at the parlor. He will be greatly missed, but forever in our hearts with his affectionate word "ditto".
The family will receive friends at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231 on Tuesday, January 14th from 11:30 to 12:30. The funeral will follow in the chapel at 12:30. Interment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, 12609 Patterson Ave., Richmond, VA 23238 at 2:00.
