26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved
her, Christi lived a life rooted in faith, compassion, and devotion to others.
Born on October 21, 1958, in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, Christi was the daughter of
William Jackson Bridgers, III and Virginia Dell Bridgers. She later gained a loving stepfather,
C.S. Fitz, all of whom preceded her in death.
Christi earned her RN Diploma from Richmond Memorial Hospital and dedicated her career to
caring for others. She began in cardiac floor nursing, later transitioned to case management, and
ultimately continued that work from home. Her commitment to compassion-driven care left a
lasting impact on colleagues, patients, and everyone she supported.
Christi is survived by her devoted husband, Dean B. Stover III, and her children Kari S. Mitchell
(Allan) and Dean B. Stover IV (Amanda). She was a proud and loving Oma to her grandchildren
Meghan Mitchell, Jackson Mitchell, Dean Stover V, and Addison Stover, who were the joys of
her life. She is also survived by her sister Lou Ann Fincher (Tommy), nephew Andy Fincher
(Sally), niece Stacey Michalak (Nathan), great nieces Eliza and Alaina Michalak and great
nephews Aiden and Carson Fincher.
Christi’s life was defined by generosity, service, and strength. Her love language was acts of
service — and everyone who knew her experienced it firsthand. If someone faced a milestone,
hardship, illness, or even a small life moment, Christi was the first to show up with a care basket,
a thoughtful gift, a meal, or a handwritten card left at the door. She gave without hesitation,
loved without condition, and never missed an opportunity to lift others up. Her kindness was
steady, genuine, and deeply felt by all who crossed her path.
Christi will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her devotion to her family, her thoughtful
heart, and her gentle, joyful presence. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched
through compassion, loyalty, and selfless love.
