He was a diesel mechanic for 20 years with Virginia Truck Service and enjoyed dancing and fishing. He raised three children that were not his own and was the best father anyone could have ever wanted.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Earlean K. Moore; mother, Rosa Moore; father, Ivan Moore; brothers, Ivan Moore and Robert Moore; sister, Rosemary Moore Brown; and son, Jerry Oakley.
He is survived by his son, Randy Oakley, Sr.; daughter, Teresa Oakley; grandchildren, Kelly Oakley, Alicia Swann, Tracey Oakley Moore, Linda Oakley, Randy Oakley, Jr. (Irina Oakley), Diane Benton (Brandon Benton) and Amanda Cumber (Aaron Cumber); and great-grandchildren, Isabelle Benton, Aaron Cumber, Jr., Nevaeh Crew, Carneal Crew, Jr. and Kirill Surinovich.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 24, at 10 a.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231.
Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Richmond.
