

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Hattie Leggett; his first wife, Barbara Stallings Leggett; sisters, Marie Leggett Harrup and Hilda Leggett Bishop.
He is survived by his second wife, Marian B. Leggett; daughter, Susan Leggett Baldwin (Paul), her children, Shay Chenault, Jr. (Andrea) and Lauren Chenault; son, Stephen Leggett (Lynne), their children, Megan Leggett and Nicholas Leggett; and brother, James Leggett; along with a host of nieces and nephews; a stepson, Christopher Cash (Shannon) and their son Cruze Cash.
Donald served proudly as an airman in the United States Air Force and was retired from General Motors Parts Division and AT&T Microelectronics. He served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, and Choir member at Carlisle Avenue Baptist Church. He enjoyed attending car shows and restoring old cars, but his passion was his family. He was known by all as a gentle and kind man with a servant’s heart. He was a devoted husband, father, and a great Christian man who will be greatly missed.
A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2024 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 South Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, Va. 23231, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Washington Memorial Park.
