She was a longtime member of Landmark Baptist Church and worked as a school bus driver and custodian for Landmark Christian School. Dorothy was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed helping people and loved Jesus.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellen and George Wilson Sr.; brother, George Wilson Jr.; husband, Donald Pierce; and daughter, Elizabeth Dunford.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sheila Lloyd (Jeff), William Pierce; grandchildren, Fvalen Alaskey (Joe), Maranda Mason, Tyler and Collin Lloyd; great-grandchildren, Emily, Jonathan, Hannah, Brilyn, Marlow, Jayda; siblings, Thomas Wilson, Lucille Wright, James Wilson (Judy), and Anna Ragland.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Hanover Adult Center for their excellent care of Dorothy over the years in their Adult Day Care program.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 31, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home,
4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday,
November 1. Interment will follow in Signal Hill Memorial Park.
