

RENICK, Edward O'Ferrall "Pappy" Jr., 81, of Sandston, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 11, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward O'Ferrall Sr. and Irene Brittle Renick. Pappy is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Delores Ann; his brother, Wyatt (Ambra); his daughter, Deborah (Eddie) Stagg; sons, Deane (Julie) and Duane (Kathryn); his grandchildren, Tom Stagg, Shawn Bowen, Aaron (Danielle) Stagg, Tucker, Tyler, Joshua, Bryce (Brittany) and Dylan Renick; great-grandchildren, Shaine, Chloe, Jacob Austin and Eliah Edward; nephews, Ross (Debby), Mark (Janice) and Scott. Ed was a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Navy and Air National Guard. He worked at Richmond Research Laboratories Texaco, Inc. and retired from Philip Morris, Inc. Research and Development. After retirement, he worked for Henrico County Public Schools as a substitute teacher at Hermitage and Highland Springs Technical Centers and a Voter Registration/Pole Judge. Ed was a tiler and lifetime member of the Sandston Masonic Lodge #216 and a lifetime member/Deacon of Fort Lee Baptist Church. He was known for his dedication to family, his smiling face, helping hands and love for the "River Place." Pappy will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 13 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231, where a Masonic Service will be conducted at 8 p.m. A Celebration of Christian Life will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 11 a.m. at Fort Lee Baptist Church, 2727 Charles City Rd., Richmond, Va. 23231, with a graveside service to follow at Washington Memorial Park, 6217 Memorial Dr., Sandston, Va. 23150. A fellowship will be held in the Family Life Center, back at the Church after the graveside service.
