Elsie Smith Pearce

Elsie Smith Pearce, 82, of Charles City, formerly of Richmond, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 11, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kimble W. Pearce; son, Kimble W. Pearce Jr.; parents, Harry and Lena Smith; and two sisters. Elsie retired from the City of Richmond after 30 years of service as a computer programmer analyst. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Juanita P. Pate (Louie) and M. Renee Pearce. The family would like to thank Selma Towles, Tina Vanderwerker (RN), and Dorian Jones (CNA) for their compassionate care. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 13, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231. A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 12 p.m. in Westhampton Memorial Park, 10000 Patterson Ave., Richmond, Va. 23238. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lakeside House, 5623 Lakeside Ave., Richmond, Va. 23228.
