Evelyn Yates Cain, 97, of Mechanicsville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 27, 2015. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Winston Yates and her second husband, Zeak Cain. She is survived by her son, Charles Winston (Billy) Yates Jr. (Sandra); step-daughters, Beverly Atkinson (Jim), Mary Childress (Johnny) and Melissa Morgan (Mike); three grandchildren, Deborah Richards (Eddie), Scott Yates (Mary Ellen) and Christopher Yates (Darlene); great-grandchildren, Brandon Richards (Geneva), Michelle Richards and Zachary and Winston Yates; great great-grandchild, Avery Richards; brother, John C. Brown; sister-in-law Dolly Johnson; special nephews Donnie Farmer (Margaret) and Jimmy McGhee, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 31 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. Richmond VA 23231, where services will be held on Tuesday, September 1 at 1pm. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
