MCGEE, George C., 88, of Sandston died Friday, October 20, 2017. He was the widower of Rosalynd B. McGee and was also predeceased by daughter, Catherine Barker and brother, Russell McGee. He is survived by daughter, Karen Smith and brother, Louis McGee and other relatives and friends in the Richmond area and South Carolina. Upon graduating from the Virginia Military Institute in 1951, he served two years as a 1st Lieutenant with the 28th Infantry Division during the time of the Korean Conflict. This was followed by more years in the Reserves. He was a former Chief State Probation and Parole Officer for the Richmond/Henrico District and a retired highway planning engineer with VDOT. His directive for cremation with no formal service will be followed. Inurnment of ashes next to his wife at Washington Memorial Park will be private at a later date.
